In the Austrian capital, 2,200 Littersharks keep the city clean and tidy. Visitors, residents and street cleaning staff love them!

With 17.3 million overnight stays last year, Vienna is one of the most visited cities in Europe. The fact that the Austrian city can show its polished side is also thanks to the Littershark. 2,200 of them not only keep the city centre’s streets clean, but also ensure a uniform, tasteful and unobtrusive cityscape. Vienna has been using the 150-litre member of the Littershark family since 2009.

The integrated cigarette disposer provides additional safety and prevents accidental ignition of the remaining litter. The street cleaners are also big fans of the litter bin from Switzerland and are full of praise: Thanks to the sturdy three-millimetre-thick chrome steel, vandalism doesn’t stand a chance and even manoeuvring vehicles, which often come dangerously close to the litter bin, can’t easily damage the Littershark.

Another feature: The inclined head of the shark prevents waste from being placed on the shark, thus preventing littering. So, thumbs up from all sides: In Vienna, they couldn’t be happier about the decision to go with the Littershark, which is sure to bring them joy for many years to come!

Project Vienna

2,200 Littersharks not only keep the streets in the city center clean, but also ensure a uniform, tasteful and unobtrusive cityscape.

The town council is so impressed with the sturdy and easy-to-maintain bins that it plans to gradually install more systems from Littershark.
