M2 Sortershark keeps Zurich Airport clean and tidy

After a successful test phase, our Littershark is now also being used as the M2 Sortershark on the landside and airside of Zurich Airport.

At Zurich Airport, our Littershark is already a welcome guest in the outdoor areas and parking garages. New year, new locations: After a successful test phase, our Littersharks are now also keeping the landside and airside areas clean and tidy. However, instead of using separate containers as before, the M2 Sortershark is now used so that waste and PET are disposed of separately through the chute. A PET screen also prevents misthrows and makes sure that round PET bottles end up in the round bin.

Waste and PET separation at Zurich Airport with our M2 Sortershark.

The fill level monitoring system also guarantees smooth waste management, ensuring that the waste is only emptied when the sharks’ bellies are full. The Shark Eye measuring system, which is already in use throughout Zurich Airport’s indoor facilities, now also monitors the fill level in the Sortershark and transmits its data via LoRaWAN.
