No more overflowing bins and litter in public spaces: The Zurich municipality of Kilchberg tackled its waste problem head-on and decided to replace its 220-litre bins with new Solar Press-Sharks. The latter ensure order in various optimised locations. The built-in solar panel generates electricity to compress the waste inside the Littershark. The result is an increase in volume. But that’s not all: Kilchberg has taken the opportunity to really step on the gas when it comes to waste management. For example, the municipality has fitted several Solar Press-Sharks and bins with our Shark Eyes and tags, which measure fill levels to ensure more efficient and optimised emptying. Thanks to our products, Kilchberg’s residents and visitors can finally enjoy a clean riverside promenade. The depot staff are also pleased with the user-friendly system, which means they only need to empty the bins that are really full.
