City of Chur – Littershark replaces outdated concrete waste bins

In Chur, an assessment of the ergonomics and safety of work processes triggered a domino effect that led to a review of how the existing waste bins were being emptied. The waste disposal system at the time was based on concrete blocks featuring Chur’s coat of arms and an integrated inner container – a set-up that no longer complied with ergonomic best practices. The Swiss canton of Graubünden’s capital city therefore decided it was time to upgrade to a more modern waste disposal system. It launched a tender to find a smart solution to its needs – and found it in the form of our Littershark.

Whenever there is a need for intelligent and innovative waste management, Anta Swiss AG is there to answer the call. During the tender process, we presented Chur with our Littershark bins, which are already in use in many other cities. After assessing our best-seller against their criteria, the city’s decision-makers were full of praise. In terms of quality, materials, appearance, durability and ease of use, our Littershark leaves nothing to be desired.

Our popular waste bin also fulfils the ergonomic requirements with flying colours. The city of Chur was impressed by the sleek chrome steel shell, the chic, discreet appearance and the easy handling, and from then on favoured the waste bins from our workshops in Knonau.

Our Littersharks have now been in use throughout Chur since 2016 – and the city is as impressed as ever with our best-selling waste disposal solution. They have no doubt that they chose the right product!

Besides being delighted with the bins themselves, the city has also been impressed with the collaboration with Anta Swiss AG. For example, we met their request to make the original spare roll holder larger, as the diameter of the entire roll varies depending on the thickness of the waste bags. Thanks to our adaptation, the roll of waste bags can now be inserted effortlessly.

 

 

 

Based on Chur’s feedback, Anta Swiss AG even decided to make the enlarged spare roll holder the new standard.

We also reinforced the weld seams to make the product more durable.

This kind of feedback is invaluable to us, because it is only by using a solution on a daily basis that potential improvements come to light.
