New waste management system introduced in Aichach

 

It had been over 40 years since the last urban revamp in the Bavarian town of Aichach. It was thus high time to replace the cheap, green trash bins with some litter-busting superheroes to make the town more beautiful, liveable and tidy, and to live up to its own slogan “good together”. Proper waste management is exactly what the town of over 22,000 residents needs to not only beautify its image, but to also improve the handling of waste produced both for those causing it and city workers.

Fortunately, Littershark has the perfect solution for any waste-related problem. We worked closely with the town of Aichach to find the right products to meet its needs and help it implement an effective waste management system.

The entire town council, led by Mayor Klaus Habermann and the Head of the Urban Planning Department, Ms Küspert, spared no effort and even travelled to Pfaffenhofen to experience Littershark’s solar-powered Press Shark bins in action first-hand.

The positive experiences they had there and the quality of the products quickly convinced them, resulting in a thumbs up from everyone. The decision was made to gradually install Littershark bins throughout Aichach. The upgrade would be partially financed with money from the special urban regeneration fund.

 

Proper waste management is exactly what the city needs, not only to improve its image, but also to improve the handling of the waste it produces.

The feedback on the new litter bins from the city’s residents has been resoundingly positive. After all, the quality of our Littersharks speaks for itself: stickers and spray paint can be easily removed by the municipal workers during their regular cleaning and emptying runs.

The bins have even withstood explosions and fires without significant damage and could be quickly repaired.

Conclusion: The residents are delighted with the chic chrome steel sharks, which ensure order and a uniform, modern and tidy cityscape everywhere.

One particularly useful tool is the Shark Eye, especially in the more remote areas of Aichach’s 16 districts. Its fill-level monitoring function avoids unnecessary emptying runs and enables staff to be deployed more efficiently.
